Kembali Dalam Hitam

AC/DC... bukanlah band yang aku minati. Sama macam band Halloween dan Anthrax , aku cuma dengar dengar mcm itu sahaja tanpa ada lagu fav. Kecuali apabila kumpulan FTG mengeluarkan album Made In Malaysia, mereka telah cover lagu Back In Black yang pada hemat aku amat kemas dan kena dengan citarasa aku.

Walaubagaimanapun, AC/DC adalah satu band otai yang aku kenali semenjak kecil lagi. Di pekan sehari tempat aku, pada tahun awal 80an, memang ada gerai menjual barangan rock kapak. Dari spike, belt, t-shirt, poster dan seribu macam jenis item rock kapak yang boleh diperolehi.

Selain dari Iron Maiden, Loudness, Dio dan Metallica, ACDC merupakan satu JENAMA yang glamer dari sudut grafiknya. Maksud aku, terdapat berbagai barangan dengan Tag ACDC seperti t-shirt, pendant dan patch. ACDC merupakan sebuah band yang hebat dari Down Under  (Australia) sana....

Grafik AC/DC yang cool dan simple... senang nak lukih

Bentuk tulisan yang simple, membuatkan aku pada zaman bebudak dulu, suka juga melukis grafik perkataan ACDC di merata tempat.

Sebelum raya itu ari, aku pegi cari kasut junior di butik Converse. Sambil tunggu salesgirl tu ukur kasut... aku pusing2 dalam kedai dan mata aku tertarik pada sepasang kasut Hi-cut hitam converse...

Kasut ni dah lama... aku pernah tgk org pakai kasut ni..
dan pada hari tu, aku  jumpa kasut ni atas rak 'longgok' dijual murah murah....

Tapi malangnya, tiada saiz aku.

Tapi aku peduli hapa, aku beli jugak... simpan buat kenangan. Bukan mahal pun, kasut longgok!!! Mana tau esok-esok bila ACDC ni dah berpecah dan ada ahli dia dah mati, kasut ni jadi mahal....

hahaha... selain dari melabur dalam emas... aku percaya, melabur dengan kasut juga akan menghasilkan untung satu ketika nanti...

Kotak masih ada walaupun sedikit kusam. Sudah pasti menambah 'nilai' pada kasut ini.

Apa maksud Trance?

Trance adalah khayal, minda separa sedar atau dalam keadaan sawai.

Apa maksud sawai?

Sawai juga bermaksud separa sedar... atau dalam keadaan khayal yang teramat sangat. Ada yg kata, perkataan khayal tidak sesuai untuk Trance kerana sawai membawa maksud yang lebih tepat. Sawai adalah keadaan tidak sedarkan diri, tapi masih boleh melakukan sesuatu (tanpa kawalan dan tidak sedar) seperti kerasukan hantu .

Lagu 'rasa best' ini pada asalnya adalah nyanyian Nina Simone. Ramai manusia, mengetahui lagu 'rasa best' ini melalui nyanyian kumpulan Muse. Tapi aku mula asal dengar lagu ini dari Nina. Lagu Nina ini selalu diputarkan disebuah bistro yang selalu aku lepak di Ipoh dulu.

Nina membawa konsep Motown Blues dan sedikit soul.

Bikinan semula dari MUSE, adalah 'not bad' dan menghiburkan. Elemen new wave alt rock di masukkan dengan kemas dan menjadikan lagu ini, pada pendapat aku, lebih hidup dan gambaran emosi yang ada dalam lagu ini berjaya di tonjolkan....

Kamu Tidak Boleh Halang Saya!!!

Dalam scene dan Genre Rock, terdapat banyak juga band-band yang menampilkan vocalist perempuan.

The Cranberries adalah yang paling berpengaruh, diikuti oleh No Doubt, Skunk Anansie, Evanescence dan terkini Paramore. Itu lah antara band-band yang overexposed, sell out dan menjadi ikutan serta inspirasi ramai.

Terdapat juga band band underexposed yang bagus dari segi materials dan attitude band itu sendiri. Yang aku minati adalah Band Kittie dan juga Guano Apes.

Guano Apes yang paling malang. Kebanyakkan poser dan follower Nu Metal dan Alternative rock di negara kita, tidak mengikuti band ini. Ini mungkin kerana pendedahan dari media yang kurang mengambil materials mereka untuk diputar di corong radio.

Band ini berasal dari Germany. Bagi aku, band-band Germany adalah antara band yang bagus. Rammstein dan Scorpions antara contoh band Germany yang meletop satu dunia.

Tapi kebanyakkan poser dalam dunia Metal, lebih mengenali band USA yang bagi aku, lebih kepada  'radio material'.

Aku berpendapat, di mesiaraya ni, Guano Apes tidak mendapat tempat mungkin kerana faktor nama band ini.... Guano bermaksud:

Any excrement from birds, seals, or bats which is used as fertilizer, is called Guano

mudah kata, guano ni ialah najis burung dan kelawar yang digunakan sebagai baja....

kerana nama yang pelik, mungkin kumpulan ini tak lepas main lagu mereka di radio....satu kerugian!!! 


Lagu dibawah ni, selalu aku dengar. Satu lagu yang powerful dalam menaikkan semangat aku bila menemui jalan buntu dalam berbuat sesuatu.

Aku cukup suka rangkap ini. Interpretasi aku terhadap rangkap ini adalah ; 

Tiada apa yang dapat menyekat saya untuk menyintai apa yang saya suka ( the world)  dan perkara yang berkaitan dengannya ( its lies). Saya sudah hampir berjaya ( kiss the sky). Usaha saya sendiri. 

Gambaran sinikal pertunjukkan sarkis dalam video klip ini, bukan sesuatu yang tidak sengaja. Ianya adalah sangat dramatis dengan mengatakan bahawa hidup kita ini umpama sarkis. Semuanya bersifat pertunjukkan dan kita sentiasa peduli dengan persepsi orang lain walaupun, kita amat berlawanan dengan apa yang orang anggap.

Hidup umpama sarkis apabila, terdapat ramai penonton yang sentiasa memerhati tingkah laku kita, dan akan terhibur dengan 'mishap' dan malang yang menimpa. Hidup adalah satu sarkis yang sangat besar!

Aku sedang merancang sesuatu yang sangat besar. Faktor untuk ianya tidak akan berjaya juga cukup besar. Tapi jika tidak dirancang, tidak dilihat kebarangkalian yang ada, siapa pun tidak dapat memberi tahu kepada aku samada ianya akan berjaya atau tidak. Biar gagal setalah puas mencuba, dari gagal merancang dan gagal mencuba yang mana akan disesali pada suatu masa kelak kerana tidak langsung menggunakan peluang yang ada.

Aku bukan juga seorang yang positif. Tapi ada 2-3 perkara, bila aku buat, aku akan buat bersungguh sepenuh hati. 

Kalau gagal macam mana?

Itu pasal lah ada istilah "I'm close enough to kiss the sky".... tu bukan pernyataan kecewa org gagal, tapi pernyataan berani untuk mencuba sekali lagi sehingga berjaya.

Aku tidak fikir ianya akan gagal. Kecuali berberapa faktor yang memang akan menjadi punca ianya akan gagal. Dan punca-punca itu bukanlah kehendak dan datang dari diri aku. Tapi, segala ketentuan. Kalau tak berjaya, kena cuba sampai berjaya.

The Decemberists - Rox In The Box

Peluang untuk menjadi trend setter.
Peluang untuk menjadi manusia terawal mendengar sebuah karya muzik yang cukup bagus.
Peluang untuk melihat sebuah kumpulan yang kalau tidak sama taraf mungkin kurang sedikit dari kumpulan CAKE.

The Decemberist merupakan sebuah kumpulan yang berasal dari Portland USA. Sebuah band yang membawa konsep Folk Indie Rock. Bereksperimentasi dengan berbagai jenis alat muzik, lagu-lagu yang dihasilkan kumpulan ini cukup menarik dan santai untuk didengari. Bak kata pepatah, kalau ada mak mertua dalam keta, korang boleh je dengar lagu - lagu derang tanpa jelingan sinis mak mertua korang.

Kekuatan band ini terletak kepada gubahan lagu dan muzik yang cukup unik. Seperti kumpulan Cake, lagu mereka amat melancholy dan mempunyai citarasa Folk di dalamnya.

Walaupun ditubuhkan pada tahun 2001 dan mempunyai berberapa album, kumpulan ini tidak begitu mendapat tempat dihati orang malaysia. Di negara mereka sendiri pun, tidak begitu fames kerana kehadiran band2 mainstream lain yang mempunyai konsep sell out lebih berkuasa. Pada pendapat aku, material band mereka cukup bagus, dan sesuai untuk semua peringkat umur.

Creep- Kepala Radio

Lagu Creep ini dirilis  pada tahun 1992 sebagai single yang kemudiannya di muatkan dalam Album Pablo Honey pada tahun 1993 oleh kumpulan Radiohead (Oxfordshire, England) .

Ianya pada asalnya tidak bermaksud untuk menjadi single kumpulan itu. tetapi disebabkan materials di dalam album Pablo Honey tidak begitu kuat, producer mengambil keputusan untuk mempopularkan lagu ini.

Bunyi 'crunch' sebelum korus, adalah tidak disengajakan. Ianya lebih kepada sabotaj terhadap lagu yang mereka sifatkan sebagai terlalu perlahan dan membosankan.

Tapi siapa sangka, lagu ini menjadi hit seluruh dunia, dan membuka lembaran baru dalam dunia Alternatif Rock made in England( indiepop).


Tetapi di hati band members, lagu ini tetap sebagai bukan lagu faveret mereka. Sehinggakan, pada tahun 1998, lagu Creep tidak lagi mereka mainkan di gigs dan konsert mereka. Tidak lama selepas itu, atas desakan, mereka memainkan semula lagu ini pada tahun 2001.

Terdapat sekurang-kurangnya 3 versi asal lagu ini, yang dinamakan Creep, Creep radio version dan Creep Acoustic. Bezanya cuma pada Creep, ianya menggunakan perkatan vulgar (fucking special), dan acoustic di mainkan tanpa gitar elektrik dan effect.


Lagu ini cukup bermakna bagi aku. Lagu ini adalah aku!!!
Kalau jamming, lagu ini aku simpan akhir sekali, supaya boleh dimainkan dengan cukup berhati-hati dan betul serba serbi.

Britrock ngan Britpop ni sama ke?

Ada sorang tanya aku melalui PM FB.

Jawapannya, tidak.
Walaupun keduanya membawa lebel Brit yakni, berasal dari Britain. Yang mana, musicnya agak rich dan psychedelic. Britrock lebih kepada rock dengan elemen Grunge dan alternative Queen's style manakala Britpop lebih kepada Indie, sub-alternative yang mellow seperti Blur dan Radiohead.

Bercerita pasal Britrock, hanya satu band yang muncul dalam otak aku. SKUNK ANANSIE.

Diterajui oleh Skin, seorang black chix yang mempunyai power vocal yang mana, lebih elok dia nyanyi lagu Diana Ross. Tapi, dia memilih platform Britrock, dan, well, satu dunia dapat melihat hasil nyanyiannya.

Nama band, Anansie, adalah sempena nama labah-labah dalam cerita karut marut Afrika yang fames tu. Skunk, sekadar menambah perisa pada nama tersebut.

Takut Gelap- Pompuan Besi

Kalau ada satu manusia yang mengaku dengar metal, rock atau apa sahaja yang yang seangkatan dengannya, tapi tak pernah dengar lagu  dari Iron Maiden, memang dia belum cukup sifat nak jadi rocker atau metalian.

Aku bukan lah peminat tegar Iron Maiden. Tapi...... aku ulang, Tapi, lagu rock/ metal orang putih pertama yang aku banging adalah dari Iron Maiden ini yang bertajuk Alexander The Great dari Album Somewhere in Time. Ketika itu aku darjah tiga. Aku lebih suka Iron Maiden dari Lefthanded atau Search pada ketika itu, hasil dari berkawan dengan bebudak muda depan rumah. Racun dari dentuman Album ini membuatkan aku terpukau dan terus melekat jadi mat rock sampai tua. Walaupun mak aku berusaha untuk aku jadi minat sama Micheal Jackson dan Cyndi Lauper serta Cliff Richard, tapi usaha murni dia gagal. He He....Masa zaman tu, mak aku kurang sporting lagi... banyak juga inlay2 kaset yg kena bakar dek dia. Beg skolah aku pun abis dia kasi klorox sebab kat beg tu, ada aku buat tulisan IRON MAIDEN ni. Kalau korang nak tau, beg tu rupanya lebih kurang macam kat bawah, tapi tak de poket tu semua. Cara bebudak zaman dulu bawak beg skolah ni, ialah dengan menyangkutkannya di dahi. Brutal kan? hahaha...

CD original pertama aku juga adalah dari Album ini yang aku beli pada tahun 90an ketika aku mula2 dapat set HIFI yang mempunyai pemain CD dan LD. CD itu, diimpot dari UK, Di beli dengan mengirim pada sepupu aku yang blajar di sana. Sekarang ni, CD tu entah kelaut mana dah... nanti jumpa, aku kasi tempek gambarnya disini.

 Pos 2000, Iron Maiden masih lagi mengeluarkan album2 mereka. Tapi aku seakan hilang minat dan lebih melayan Megadeth . Tapi telinga aku masih dapat menangkap intro mula Iron Maiden di dalam corong radio. Lagu Iron Maiden memang unik, dan mempunyai signature yang tersendiri.

Antara sebab lain, aku suka Iron Maiden yang mempunyai pemain Bass jenis 'fingers' dari jenis 'pick'. Tidak seperti Lemmy dari motorhead yang memilih menggunakan pick, Steve Harris memang hebat bermain 4 tali.

Iron Maiden ni, kalau nak cerita, 10 pages pun tak abis... kita sambung lain kali laaaa....

Haha, sebenarnya tu cara bebudak NuMetal layan lagu.

Limp Bizkit is an American rock band from Jacksonville, Florida. The band's lineup consists of Fred Durst (lead vocals), Wes Borland (guitar), Sam Rivers (bass), John Otto (drums) and DJ Lethal.


Aku mula start dengar LB ni dalam tahun 96. Tapi pengaruh Korn (Rival LB) lebih kuat dan aku lebih layan Korn dengan adik bongsu aku ( Nick name dia di kolej adalah Korn) dari aku layan LB . LB ni ada unsur RAP yang mana aku tidak berapa masyuk sangat.

Sehinggalah keluar Album Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water. Tambahan pula, lagu Take A Look Around, dari album ini, dimuatkan dalam Soundtrack Cerita Misi Mustahil lakonan Encik Tom Cruise. Lepas dari album ini, aku terpaksa gali semula kotak2 kaset aku mencari album-album lama LB ni. Dan ada sedikit kelainan yang membuatkan aku layan LB, sehinggalah keluar album Result May Vary yang menjadi ikutan budak budak pompuan sekolah convent bukit nenas . So, aku pun say goodbye pada LB.

trend Dressing LB ni juga, menggabungkan trend dressing RAP/Hip Hop dengan Metal. Aku sempat jugalah pakai baggy pants dan Tshirt kecik serta topi pusing belakang. Sekadar alternatif pada pakaian rasmi secret agent. Signature atau pelengkap pada trend ini adalah dengan menyimpan janggut tanpa misai. Janggut itu, mesti ada Goatee.

Bila dah umur lebih kurang macam aku ni, rasa macam tak brapa kena je bila dengar LB ni. Apatah lagi kalau dressing macam Enche Fred Durst kat atas sana. Nanti orang kata Tua kuthok tak shedar diri. Tapi senyap2, aku dengar juga. Cuma jangan di dengari oleh mat mat skateboard Ipoh Parade sudah...

Bukanlah band kegemaran saya.
Attitude kumpulan ini , pun saya tidak berapa suka. terutama apabila Axl cakap banyak pasal Cobain.

Satu sebab sahaja mengapa saya dengar GnR ini, adalah lagu Don't Cry.

Satu lagu yang besar bagi saya. Arrangement musiknya cukup unik, dengan melody yang begitu melancholy , sesuai dengan tajuk lagu ini.

Terdapat dua versi yang dikeluarkan pada album Use Your Illusion 1 dan 2 . Lagu yang pertama, simply di gelar Don't Cry, dan yang keduanya di gelar Don't Cry Alternate Lyrics.

Saya suka yang Alternate Lyrics. Terpulang pada korang nak suka yang mana. Tak suka pun tak pe. Tak jadi hal...
